Description:

This class will discuss different parenting methods, and will focus on Gentle Parenting/Respectful Parenting method. Gentle parenting is a parenting approach grounded in four central elements: respect, understanding, empathy, and boundaries. It's rooted in research that shows strong, and healthy bonds with their parents can improve a child's long-term mental health, and resilience. This class will give you the tools to protect, nurture, and parent the foster children in your home as the humans that they are.  This course is worth 2 credit hours. 


This class will be IN PERSON on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 6-8:00 PM at the Poplar Bluff branch (2198 N. Westwood Blvd, Poplar Bluff, MO 63901.  Upon completion you will receive 2 hours of training credit.

Trisha Lambert

Trisha Lambert is the Family Advocate and Training Specialist for FosterAdopt Connect in Poplar Bluff. Trisha brings many years of lived experience navigating the child welfare system, including parenting a child with special needs. Trisha's own journey of fostering to adopt has left her uniquely equipped to understand both perspectives, and to serve as a steadfast bridge for families in the midst of their journey. Trisha and her husband have been married for 10 years. They have three daughters ages 9, 6, and 4. In her spare time, Trisha enjoys outdoor activities with her family, spending time with friends, and reading.
