Description:

This virtual group will provide support to Foster/adopt families who just want to connect with other foster/adopt families for community and understanding. It is so important for foster/adopt families to connect, support, and mentor each other. This group provides a safe place to do so.

Being a caregiver for children in foster care is a deeply rewarding but emotionally demanding journey. The constant giving of time, energy, and emotional support—often to children who have experienced trauma—can lead to compassion fatigue, a form of caregiver stress that affects your health, relationships, and effectiveness as a foster parent. This training is designed specifically for foster parents to help you recognize the early warning signs of compassion fatigue, understand its unique impact in the foster care context, and learn practical tools to protect your emotional well-being while continuing to care for children with love and resilience.

We will meet from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM for training and from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM for support group.   Upon completion 2 hours of training credit will be received.
