Description

Core teen is a curriculum for caregivers of children who have experienced trauma. This cutting edge curriculum is designed to prepare caregivers to meet the unique needs of children and add new parenting strategies. This class fulfills the current requirement for Level A (Behavioral Foster Parent) licensure but can be taken for training purposes only.   Please note, all individuals on the license must complete the course to apply for Level A licensure.  Completion of the training does not guarantee Level A approval. 

We will meet seven consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, beginning on May 16, 2023 and ending June 27, 2023.  You must attend all 7 sessions to receive the 21 hours of credit for the class.  No partial credit will be given.

Family Training Specialist

Janice Byrd

Janice is a Family Training Specialist at FosterAdopt Connect. She has a bachelor’s degree in social work. Janice has over twenty-five years’ experience in the child welfare field, working with both foster/adoptive and birth parents. She and her husband were licensed foster parents for twelve years and are adoptive parents. Janice has provided numerous trainings for foster and adoptive parents.
