Description:

This virtual group will provide support to Foster/adopt families who just want to connect with other foster/adopt families for community and understanding. It is so important for foster/adopt families to connect, support, and mentor each other. This group provides a safe place to do so.  

This training will provide an overview of mental health conditions commonly seen in foster and adoptive care.  It will include how trauma, loss and disrupted attachment can impact emotional and behavioral health.  It will provide guidance on recognizing signs, understanding needs, and supporting children through informed and compassionate care.

We will meet from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM for training and from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM for support group.   Upon completion 2 hours of training credit will be received.

I am a Family Advocate/Trainer. I have been with FAC since April 2022. I have a bachelor's of Social Work from University of Central Missouri. I am a foster/adoptive parent and have 4 amazing kiddos who are 12, 5, 3 and 2. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and exploring new places with my children.
