Description:

This VIRTUAL Support Group for foster, adoptive, guardianship and kinship providers will meet the first Tuesday of the Month via Zoom.  We will meet from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (CTS) for training and from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM (CTS) for support.

This training provides foster parents and caregivers with a foundational understanding of childhood trauma and its lasting impact on emotional, behavioral, and neurological development. Through a trauma-informed lens, caregivers learn to recognize the signs of trauma, understand the underlying causes of challenging behaviors, and respond with empathy and structure rather than punishment. By the end of the training, foster parents are better prepared to support children with traumatic backgrounds, leading to stronger attachments, improved outcomes, and greater resilience for both the child and caregiver.  Upon completion, you will receive 2 hours of credit.
