Description:

This Hybrid Support Group for foster, adoptive, guardianship and kinship providers will meet the first Tuesday of the Month at  the Chillicothe Branch Office (301 Cowgill St, Chillicothe, MO 64601) or via Zoom.  We will meet from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (CTS) for training and from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM (CTS) for support.  

Guest Presenter: Becky Morris, Retired SPED Director for Pattonsburg School District


This training equips participants with the knowledge and tools to support and advocate for a child’s educational needs. It covers key laws, the roles and responsibilities of an advocate, and how to navigate school systems effectively. Topics include IEPs, 504 Plans, collaboration with educators, and addressing barriers like trauma or learning challenges. Participants gain practical skills to communicate with schools, ensure access to services, and promote academic success for all students, especially those in foster care or with special needs.  Upon completion you will earn 2 hours of training credit.

Family Advocate and Trainer

Ashley Webb

Ashley Webb is the Family Advocate and Trainer for Foster Adopt Connect in Chillicothe, Missouri. Ashley has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology and has worked for several agencies in the social services fields including the Department of Youth Services, Preferred Family Healthcare, and Children’s Division. Outside of the office, she is a proud mom to 4 young children aged 7, 5, and 10 month old twins. She and her husband have been married for 9 years and he is currently the band director for Trenton Middle and High Schools. Ashley enjoys helping families and children thrive in their everyday lives.
