Description:

This presentation focuses on the factually and historically overlooked and marginalized parents/persons drawn into the child welfare system regarding their children and grandchildren.  As foster parents it is important to know how & why the system includes and supports Fathers, Parents in Prison and the Grandparents of the children we have placement of.  This presentation will provide the realities for these groups of people and the data points for perspective; the common threads regarding bias and discrimination among these groups; and the practical tips for how/why to find, include and support these important people in the life of the children and families in the system.  This will be an eye opening and enlightening presentation that will remind us of the importance of including and lifting-up all persons who love/support the children.

Upon completion, you will receive 1.25 hours of credit.
