Description

Deciding the best placement for a child is like a gigantic puzzle, requiring a clear understanding of the various laws that apply to considering grandparents, other relatives, siblings, 'kin,’ and foster parents as a placement option. There are also factors unique to each individual child that need to be considered. This self-paced training, developed by the Children's Division, puts these concepts together.

Concurrent planning is an important and necessary part of permanency planning. Federal and state laws intersect to guide agencies and courts. This training outlines the relevant laws and regulations and provides learning opportunities for the trainees to test their knowledge.  Upon completion you will earn five hours training credit.
