Description:

This Blended Learning Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED course combines online learning with individual in-person training.  You will complete the on-line learning at your own pace.  The online training is estimated to take 5 hours.  Upon proof of successful completion of the online training, you will be able to schedule an individual skills check session.  (Couples may attend the skills check session together but both must complete the online portion separately prior to the skills check.)  Please note all skills check session will take place at our Independence Office (18600 E. 37th Terrence South, Independence, MO 64057).   At this skills check session, you will demonstrate your ability to preform the required skills on our mannequins.  Upon successful completion of both the online portion and skills check, you will receive Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED certification from American Red Cross.  The certification is valid for two years. Please note our skills check session days fill up quickly so you will want to be proactive in scheduling to ensure you have everything completed in time.

Family Training Specialist

Janice Byrd

Janice is a Family Training Specialist at FosterAdopt Connect. She has a bachelor’s degree in social work. Janice has over twenty-five years’ experience in the child welfare field, working with both foster/adoptive and birth parents. She and her husband were licensed foster parents for twelve years and are adoptive parents. Janice has provided numerous trainings for foster and adoptive parents.
