Kansas Director of Family Programs

Joni Hiatt

Joni and her husband Jim are lifelong Kansas residents who fostered around 135 children over 27 years. Jim and Joni have three grown daughters, two adopted from foster care and two grandsons. In 2002, Joni joined the Board of Directors for Kansas Foster & Adoptive Children Inc.(KFAC), a foster/adoptive support and advocacy group on the Kansas side. Joni held this Director position up until serving as President of KFAC from 2005 until April of 2014 when the KFAC organization merged with FosterAdopt Connect to grow the services provided across Kansas. Joni left her job with the Olathe School District after 18 years, to become the Kansas Director of Programs for FosterAdopt Connect.

Alex Hepner

Alex Hepner worked in child welfare for over 4 years as an Adoption Support worker before joining the FosterAdopt team last September. Alex is married with 5 children. She has one biological daughter, 2 adopted daughters and 2 bonus children. Her children were kinship placements and adopted through the state of Kansas. She loves to cook, do DIY projects and spend time with her family.
